Personalized Children's Books are storybooks where a specific child is the hero of the story.

The child’s name or nickname and personal features appear on the cover and throughout the book.

We recommend our books for ages 0 to 8.

Reading to babies and young children will:

In Pick my Hero’s books, you can personalise the child’s name, gender, skin colour, hair colour and the language.

Your child’s name/nickname and character appear on the cover and throughout the book.

Absolutely! Our text is just an example. You can replace it with your own text.

You can write in any language that uses the Latin Alphabet, to a maximum of 150 characters and a maximum of 3 lines.

Remember to double-check the spelling of the text you enter, as it will be printed exactly as you wrote.

After personalising your book, you can view the first four pages of the book with the name and character choice you entered.

Our book’s size is 20 cm x 27 cm / 7.9 in x 10.6 in

Paper
We print on resistant high quality 100% recycled paper with a super soft mat finish.

Cover
Pick my Hero offers two types of covers: hard cover and soft cover.
The hardcover is more durable, hence best suited for young children.

For the time being you have the choice between:

Pick my Hero’s books are mostly sold in Europe.

To reduce the Carbon Footprint, the books sold in Europe are printed in Germany.

Ordering your book is very easy; just follow along these simple steps…

1. Choose the story book.
2. Add the name or nickname of your child, choose gender, hair and skin colour;
3. Select the language you want the book in;
4. Add a dedication if you wish – you can use our example or your own text;
5. Select the type of cover you prefer – hard or soft…

… DONE

At this point, you can visualize the first pages of your personalised book – red button or proceed to checkout – green button.

Discount codes are added at check out.

The maximum number of letters for the name is 12.

Also, our system only accepts the Latin alphabet, including accents.

You can edit your book during the order process or on the order confirmation (click on the pencil).

Please double check the spelling of the child’s name and your dedication text - watch out for typos, duplicate words, accents or unfinished text.  

Remember to click the box to confirm you checked what you wrote.

Yes, you may cancel your order within four hours of the order placement.

Upon receiving your order and payment your order is immediately processed.

After this four-hour window, the book goes into printing, and we cannot cancel it.

If you are an organization or a company and you want to order an item in large quantities, please contact our customer service by e-mail to find out our discounts on larger quantities.

Our books come in two versions:

• Hardcover at 36.9 € (vat included) 
• Softcover at 28.9 € (vat included).

 Mailing is added to this price.

Our personalised books are custom-made for your child, with the specific characteristics you choose.

Unique as they are, they are made one by one, and a lot of handwork goes into making your book.

In accordance with the tax laws governing members of the European Union, Pick my Hero is required to charge Value Added Tax (VAT) on all orders printed and delivered to addresses within the EU.

The VAT rate is determined by legislation in the destination country. As a result, the VAT rate is subject to change as per the guidelines of each country's tax authority. The VAT rate is applied to the price of the books and any handling costs.

The pricing information displayed throughout Pick my Hero’s website and during checkout, will indicate whether VAT is included or not. 

Pick my Hero’s default EU VAT rate for books is 6%. Portugal is the country for which the collected VAT belongs when the default rate is applied. However, for some EU countries Pick my Hero’s is required to collect a different VAT rate and that amount will be seen during check-out. The VAT rate is applied to the price of the books and handling costs for orders that will be delivered to any EU member state.

Some orders shipped to addresses outside of the E.U. may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches the destination country and are the responsibility of the customer. Check your country’s legislation for import duties on books. 

Pick my Hero accepts major credit cards and PayPal.

Credit cards are processed through Paypal’s gateway (you don’t need a Paypal account).

No, it is not necessary to have a customer account. You can place an order as a simple visitor.

Once your order has been placed successfully, an email with all the order’s details is sent to the email address that was entered during your purchase.

If you did not receive the confirmation email, check your spam folder. If it’s not there, please contact us at info@pickmyhero.com and we will help you track down your order.

All purchases automatically receive a receipt with VAT.

For tax purposes, fill in your tax number at checkout, in the appropriate box.

As soon as your bank confirms your payment, we will send you an Electronic Invoice approved by the EU Tax Authority.

Your promo code is entered on the shopping cart at check out, in the appropriate box. The discount is applied automatically.

Yes, they do. Please check the date on each promotion code.

You may only use one promo code per order.

Promo codes cannot be used together with other discounts or special offers.

The price of shipping depends on the weight of the package and country of delivery. The shipping cost will be shown as soon as you enter the shipping address.

We strive to offer you the lowest shipping costs with top reliable shipping companies.

When you buy more than one book, in the same order, to the same shipping address, we offer reduced shipping rates on the second, third and subsequent books.

At the moment, we ship to most countries in Europe, to the US and Canada. Check for the destination country in the dropdown menu when you enter your shipping address.

If your destination country isn’t listed, please contact us at info@pickmyhero.com to request a quote.

Book production takes 3 to 4 business days.

Depending to which country the order is shipped to and the time of the year, shipping takes from 4 to 10 business days, excluding printing production.

During special commemorative dates such as Christmas, due to the higher number of orders, it may take longer.

Currently we use Normal Mailing with DHL.

You will see the shipping cost of your order as soon as you fill in the delivery address.

Note: when you purchase more than one book, we offer you reduced shipping costs.

Are your little ones scattered around the globe? We have you covered.

Please place a separate order for each address.

At Pick my Hero, all orders are tracked and insured. After you make your purchase, you will receive an e-mail with your tracking number.

If you have not received the tracking number within 5 days of your purchase, please contact us at info@pickmyhero.com.

If your order doesn’t arrive in a three-week period, please contact us at info@pickmyhero.com

The book you ordered is as unique as your child. It is custom-made with the information and characteristics you choose for your child.

As such, we cannot provide any refund or exchange.

If your book arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, we will replace it free of charge. Please let us know within 14 days of receiving your book. You can include photos of the damage or defect in the printed book for a faster resolution.
